- assuming you don't live where you can hear the Adhan being called. How often do you figure out the time for prayer by looking at the sun instead of reading a timetable?
it is not very difficult. if it was how did the holy prophet muhammed (p.b.u.h)and the Shabaa pray in old times..
There is a calculation methods available if we know the sunset and sunrise times. If not it could be done this way as said below.
Fajr- We can pray when the white thin light dies away on the horizon, which mark the beginning of Dawn.
Zohr- A little after the sun is right at the top. That is when you have no shadow.
Asr - once the time your height is equal to the shadow length according to shafi school of jurisprudence and Hanafi school of jurisprudence twice your height equal to your shadow length.
Magrib - After the sunsets and the reddish Violet light appears on the horizon.
Isha - Approximately 1 and half hour after magrib.
Please consult your local scholar for further clarification. Allah is all knowing and all wise. How often do you figure out the time for prayer by looking at the sun instead of reading a timetable?
not often i just have an alarm set
i live in vegas so no azaan
and i can never tell the time by the sun
lol
I notice the time for Maghrib and Isha by how dark it gets, and the morning prayer about 15 minutes after the birds begin to chirp (I usually stay up all night cos I'm an insomniac). I rarely watch the movement of the sun for Dhuhur and Asr but I get a vague idea of the times by them, but I rely on my watch for that mostly.
Never, only because I wouldn't know how. Except for the maghrib prayer I guess.
Usually I do. I have no intrinsic awareness of time, so if i go by clocks, I lose track of time. Going by the angle of the sun is easy, except on cloudy days.
If I don't have a watch or my mobile. A very unlikely situation then I usually have a look for a clock or ask someone.
I'm not good at this whole look for the sun thing. Especially in the UK when its always cloudy.
NEver
well it is 2008, we have watches
Fajr. Always %20
Duhr. Never %0
Aser. Sometimes, but usually at the end which isn't good. so %5
magrib Always %20
Isha sometimes.. %10
So thats %55 of the prayers i cant tell..i passed lol
salam
