What paint should I use if I want to paint an action figure?

I want to customize some regular action figures, like normal 4-6 inch toys, is there any paint I can use that is durable enough I can still play with the figure?What paint should I use if I want to paint an action figure?
I use Testors enamel and acrylic paint for mine and it works great. EBay and most hobby shops carry it.What paint should I use if I want to paint an action figure?
If you work in a Walmart factory in China, then you'll have to paint all the toys with lead paint. I think it's the law.
If the plastic is somewhat bendable (like Star Wars) do not use enamels since they will remain sticky all the time.
use spray paint.
