I am trying to figure out what kind of paint that i need to use?

i am planning on painting my hallway and living room. i have a color in mind but my problem is i want the paint that wont rub off or come off when i clean it with windex or clorox spray. and i want it to be shiny. and what is the difference between the cheap and expensive paint.I am trying to figure out what kind of paint that i need to use?
If you want a glossy surface, go with a good acrylic latex semi-gloss. Do not try to clean it for the first two weeks or so, after that it should be fine. Although the paint dries to the touch rather quickly, it takes a while for it to fully cure and reach full strength.

There are many variables that go into making a quality paint. In the way of ingredients, calcium carbonate is used in most paint as a filler, it gives the paint the ability to cover other colors and makes the paint a bit thicker. It also weakens the structure of the paint and makes it easier to scuff and stain. Cheaper paints will have more calcium carbonate and very little if any of the other materials that can do the same job with less negative properties. The other materials are more expensive. The same holds true for the chemicals that act as binders, drying agents, etc. The cheaper paints have less of the high quality components, more of the cheap.

Consistency is another issue. A batch of high-quality paint is maintained within 1/2% tolerance or less for key ingredients. Cheaper paint may get away with 3% or more tolerance.

In short, there is a difference in cheap paint and high quality paint. The real question is does it make a difference to you? The less expensive paint will not withstand as much abuse as a quality paint. It will still take a good deal, so it may suit your needs. The high quality paint will have a truer color. It will give you a slightly better finish. Many, maybe most people would never notice either of these.

I think it is worth it, given the amount of time it takes to do a proper paint job. Some disagree, and that is fine. Just so you understand their is a difference.I am trying to figure out what kind of paint that i need to use?
I'd use a latex, high gloss paint that is advertised as ';scrubable';. Typically, you get what you pay for, the cheaper paints being of lesser quality and most likely not to hold up, certainly if you are spraying it with bleach. Most of the better quality washable/scrubable paints hold up pretty well, but I would not spray with bleach of any type as it will certainly discolor. I'd just wipe down with a damp cloth or sponge.
Sounds like you want a semi-gloss or gloss latex enamel paint. Paints vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Name brands usually are more because of advertising although the paint may be the same as other less expensive brands. I have used Walmart house brand(called House Beautiful) paints in rentals and my own home for many years because they work well and are inexpensive compared to name brands. They were also a recommended paint by Consumer Reports who did an independant study. I think interior House Beautiful paint goes for around $11-13 a gallon and they will mix it to match whatever color you want. You can bring in any color sample even paint chips from other brands.
I would use a satin acrylic. It also comes in gloss. It is scrubable in 2 wks. Shewin Williams make so damn go paint.

If you go gloss just keep in mind that it going to show every imperfection.

Check out this site it might help you decide.
Really you would almost need to go with a High gloss oil base paint for that. The difference between the cheap and expensive paint is coverage, durability, workability.
