I know New England still won the game last night. But it was one of their closest games this season. Are Offensive and Defensive Coaches figuring them out?Are teams starting to figure out how to beat the Patriots?
probably...Are teams starting to figure out how to beat the Patriots?
OHHH YEAH!!!
they have not figured it out yet, the Patriots are still undefeated.
Sure Andy Reid may have found and exploited weaknesses in the Pats game, but at the same time he exposed it for Bill Belichick, so he knows what to work on this week before the next game.
Philly played a great game last night, the Pats looked flat. But as others have pointed out, the stakes were much higher for the Eagles than the Pats.
at this point in the season, that's mostly the norm......problem is so coaches may know exactly how to stop them or at least slow them now enough to make it a watchable game but dont have the players and talent to execute it properly.........
what really help the Eagles last night was the fact that they played lose and didnt buy into the 25pt underdog role they were cast in before the game (how many talking heads did we have saying this game would be over by halftime especially with ';D-Nice'; (my nickname for McNabb) sitting out).......like Chris Berman (ESPN) is always saying, ';That's why they play ALL the games';.........enjoy the rest of the season and VIVA LA FOOTBALL AMERICANA!!!!!
John Madden said it best last night...while the Eagles didn't win, they ';put out a blueprint'; of how other teams can beat the Pats. Now we will just have to see if one of the remaining teams can pick up on it and execute it just a little better than Philly.
No the Patriots are going into CRUISE MODE. Just laying back and only doing what they have to to win.
Eagles played a good game but they did come up a little short but I still say as good as the Pats are, they don't go undefeated. I think they lose to the Steelers %26amp; if they face the Colts in play-offs, they lose that game as well
Nah, this game will give other teams false hope that they can beat the Pats. I still expect the Pats to lose a game during the regular season (Pittsburg or New York Giants).
sure indy exposed them and now philly exposed some more weaknesses as well, everybody know the patsie defense is overated and the fact they cant run the ball well dosent bode well for them in december when you need to play good defense and run the ball, the nfl is a game of study when sombody figures out a team the ones that follow will try to execute the same plan aginst them as well
As a Patriots fan I give alot of credit to Philly, they played an awsome game.
As far as your question:
Philly was playing to keep their season alive where as New England was playing just another regular season game, and Philly is good enough to give anyone a game who doesn't want it nearly as much as they do. New Englands' offense looked good but a bit spotty at times, and for some reason still don't know why they went away from their original game plan in the second half. I think they were trying to slow the tempo of the game, Im not sure but they were far more effective in the first half then in the second. Im not worried at all about New Englands' offense, They put up 24 point(7) came off a turnover and they never turned the ball over.
Their defense on the other hand had a bad game. I know part of it was as Madden pointed out they are a team that plays off and outside in the secondary, but ussually teams dont have time to get the ball out, so that is a little bit of a concern but I think they will address those issues before the playoffs.
Its more than just figuring out a team, you know a lot of teams know how to play the patriots, unfortunately for them with the amount of talent that new england has, and the fact that they have the best quarterback in the league they are a team that still takes the ball away, still harasses the quarterback and still puts up 20+ points a game on their worst days. So beating them, regardless of what someone might have figured out is a lot easier said than done. When the playoffs start this will be especially true, because they will be the team that wants it more.
