3. In recent years, 3.4 children per year get sick with measles in Minnesota. If a recent year is taken at random, what is the probability that that
(a) less than 3 children catch the measles in Minnesota?
(b) more than 3 children catch the measles in Minnesota?
(c) exactly 4 children catch the measles in Minnesota?
(d) Between 2 and 6 children inclusive catch the measles in Minnesota?
Can you please help me figure out how to determine these probabilities?
There is some information missing here.
We have the mean but not the standard deviation.
So, we cannot apply the normal distribution here.
Yet, it's normally assumed to use normal distribution.
Unless it is the exponential distribution.
I think it must be that.
