Multiply your grade so far by 0.85. Then subtract that from the grade you want. Then divide that by 0.15
Say you have an 80 so far but want to get an 82.
80 x 0.85 = 68
82 - 68 = 14
14 / 0.15 = 93.3333... so you'd need at least thatWhat is the equation to figure out what percent you need to get on the final to get a certain grade?
Grade you want in the course - (semester avg without final X 0.85)
Divide that by 0.15
That number is the lowest you can get out of a hundred to earn the grade you wanted in the course.
G= Desired numerical grade
C= Current Numerical grade
F= Final Grade
G=(.85C/100)+(.15F/100)
