lol. You're so funny!

Hmm. Let's see. You'll need about 10 - 12 dogs, sled equipment, food for dogs, mittens, and a CLUE. :P Good luck with that. ;)Im fixing to go to Anchorage Alaska and Im trying to figure out how many dogs i need for the Iditarod?
Have you ever raced before????

If not, you CANNOT start out with the Iditarod. Start out with one of the smaller races up here, it will give you a slight idea of the magnitude of the Iditarod. Even before you do the Iditarod, you need to qualify. There are different races that you need to enter in order to be in the Iditarod.

But for the Iditarod, you need at least 16 dogs, a coat boots and mittens that are tested to around 100 below, booties for the dogs, harnesses and all the tack that goes for the dogs, bedding and food for your dogs (this will be dropped off at the checkpoints), and lots of common sense.

Again, if you have never been in a sled race before, do not endanger yourself or the dogs with this race.
You will need at least 16 dogs. You will also need a heavy duty down parka rated at 60 below zero, preferably one with a wolverine ruff around the hood. Wolverine fur won't frost up from your breath. Bring some heavy duty gortex mittens, with regular fingered glove liners, and lots of chemical pocket warmers. Your dogs will need to have gortex booties, with several spare sets for each dog, and enough hay for their bedding during your 24 hour layovers and rest stops. Bring dried salmon and a portable camp stove to boil snow. You want to add the salmon to your dogs food, and boil it in melted snow. The fish will give them added protein, and ensure that they eat their food regardless of how tired they are. Don't forget to bring a pair of ';bunny boots';, and lots of wool socks for yourself.
A team of about 30 Yorkshire Terriers is a sure win.

Mittens are ok, I prefer one of those heat dishes that you get at Costco, and a good sized generator in the sled.
No, all you need is a tv. Sounds like it would be safer for all if you watch the race on tv and leave the Iditarod alone to the professionals.
about 15 dogs will do so they arent tired out. please dont torture the poor huskies!! :)

hope this helps!! :):)
