The humane society told us he was half lab and half german shepard and we can see the lab in him but not so much german shepard.I have a picture of him in my 360 in with the pictures of my yard. His coat is smooth like a lab accept around his neck, the fur stands up. He's mostly black with some white on his chest and he has some real dark brown around his muzzle and on his legs. He has realy long legs and loves to run and is realy fast. He has a deep ribcage and is very lean and slim. He has a long, narrow muzzle. He is extremely intelligent, I can teach him a new trick in mattter of hours. He has webbed toes like a lab but doesn't like water much. He hates the sprinkler and swimming pool and refuses to swim. He will only wade if we take him out to rivers or lakes. He is a very good guard dog, he would not hesitate to defend us to the death. He loves to chase anything that will run including our kids and cat and anyone on a bicycle. Any ideas? Can anyone help me figure out what breed my dog is?
I saw him on your 360 page, and I can see the black lab a little bit, too. But not the German Shepherd. I think he's 1/2 lab and 1/2 Doberman based on his long legs and narrow muzzle. He also seems to have some brownish spots on his face that would indicate Doberman. When their ears aren't cropped and their tails aren't docked, this is kind of what they look like. Can anyone help me figure out what breed my dog is?
Some dobies have white spots on their chest, and some labs do also. I think with either breed it's not an AKC fault, but it has to be real small. Report Abuse

I saw the picture on your 360 i will tell you that he is defintely some part lab. While the other part is unknown i can tell you that he is not German Shepherd. I have some of my own. He might be part doberman or something because he has a long narrow snout and legs are long.
Hope that answers your question.
listen without registration papers he could be any breed or mixture of any breed - he might even have 3 or 4 breeds
he could be 3/4 lab, 1/4 shep
humane societies just make guesses so they can describe a dog quickly it doesnt mean anything as all dogs without registration papers are technically mutts anyhow
love your dog for what it is..
I see lots of Doberman in him. No Shepherd. I don't see Lab, but that could be the pictures - it can be difficult to guess if the dog isn't right in front of you.
The vocalizing sounds like a Dobe, too.
