My keyboard is malfunctioning. I need help on how to fix it a well! The home row is only working sporadically. Extremely frustrating!I need to figure out whether or not my dell e1505 has a peripheral port for a non usb keyboard?
If it's half recent probably not and even if it isn't you'd probably need a special adapter to plug a keyboard in.
You can pick up adapters for plugging PS/2 or AT keyboards into USB ports (and the other way around, although the ones that come with keyboards aren't generically useful) but for the price you'd pay to buy one you could just as well get a cheap new USB keyboard. Unless you have something like an old Model M keyboard (which makes two clicks on each key press, no wonder people love them) or a special ergonomic keyboard that you really like (but it sounds like you just want something that works and would be happy with the built in keyboard if it wasn't broken so probably not you) you're probably better off just picking up a new keyboard (or if your laptop is still under warranty sending it in for repair, fixing it out of warranty could be expensive).I need to figure out whether or not my dell e1505 has a peripheral port for a non usb keyboard?
Looks like it does not. It should be a round purple port. I would suggest replacing your malfunctioning keyboard.

No, It does not have any PS2 ports to plug in a standard keyboard.
You could try to fix your laptop yourself. I would imagine ';something'; was spilled on the keyboard and the keys are sticking. The keys pop off - be careful to draw yourself a diagram first before proceeding as to where the keys go.
If you would like to tackle this time consuming chore - very good instructions can be found here:

The Dell can't take a non-USB external keyboard, but I don't quite understand what you are asking as it is about as cheap to replace a USB keyboard as to purchase a ps2 one. It's worth trying to fix the laptops own keyboard, but hardly worth the trouble messing about inside an external one.
Have I missed the point??!
Check the specs on the Dell web site.
