What kind of dress would compliment my figure?

I have flabby arms, a chubby stomach but regular thick thighs. I have an 8th grade dance so what kind of dress would compliment my figure. I'm very tall for my age which is 13 5'7 but my curvy figure still shows. I'm about 160 so I'm very fat. Can anyone help? What kind of dress would compliment my figure?
Something that's empire wasted and flows out, and most definitely ties around your neck, which makes your bust proportionate to your arms, and something that is just below or above the knee :).What kind of dress would compliment my figure?
my first question is, is this dance formal??? if it isn't, my best advice would be to wear a cute shirt and jeans that you feel comfortable in so you can dance all night long, have fun, and feel confident. if a dress is the only option, i would wear a dress with an A-line skirt (one that goes out) to create the illusion of an hourglass figure. if you feel self conscious about your arms i would suggest wearing a coverup like a little coat, but one that is a 3/4 sleeve because a short sleeve will cut up your arms and make them look bigger. also, an empire waist with an A-line skirt will mean that your stomach is hidden, but you'll still look cute. hope this helps, and have fun at your dance!
If you are very tall then I guess your weight probably fits you, yet Im still here to help. You should stay away from bright colors such as Neon pink, bright yellow, lime green, etc. etc. Stay away from stripes on your shirts and pants which will cause attention to your curves. Wear loose clothing, have your hair down, not in a pony or pigtails. If your going for a summery look wear knee high socks to cover your legs and a cute skirt. Have fun at your dance, and don't be conscious about your weight, you can still be beautiful! [: Hope this helps.
Ok, well, I'm about your age and I don't think you should sweat your body just yet. Trust me I have seen some pretty drastic changes and when youn get older you might slim out ;).

About the dress, if you are uncomfortable with your body go with a babydoll or flowy dress.
a dress that covers the arms, shows off the chest and hugs right below your bust, covers to your knees or lower

During a divorce how do you figure out how much to pay the other person when selling the house?

To buy the other person out.

Only been paying on house for 4 mths!

Do you just have to pay them half of the equity or half of what the house is worth?During a divorce how do you figure out how much to pay the other person when selling the house?
FMV is Fair Market Value. You two can agree on any amount, but usually all they are entitled to is 1/2 the equity. Keep in mind that if you are both on the loan, what you will need to do for your own protection is refinance in your name only, and arrange for your spouse's name to be removed from the deed. If you are in full agreement on all points of this deal, you can have this done by a title company, but an attorney might be useful since you are divorcing. A word to the wise - work out all the details and make sure you won't incur any extra expenses before you sign any documents!During a divorce how do you figure out how much to pay the other person when selling the house?
Yeah, half of the current FMV.

If you are selling to someone else then half of whatever the gain is from the proceeds after paying off the lender.
I think maybe you just pay half of whatever money you get for the house. This would probably be a good time for your lawyer to get involved.
This is up to the negotiations of both lawyers and of course, the judge. Make sure you secure a GOOD lawyer!
I would always recommend to accept a buy out and move. Security is the possession of the money and not the house.
I would think only half of the equity. What is FMV?

What color outfit should I wear for a Phantom of the Opera themed figure skating program?

In the movie the girl wears white the whole movie, but I need your opinion to the color of the dress I'm going to wear for my figure skating program. I'm looking at an elegant black and white dress, but I'm trying to find if there is a better color or colors to make it more Phantom of the Opera! HELP ME PLEASE!What color outfit should I wear for a Phantom of the Opera themed figure skating program?
you can use dark red

black and white is nice, maybe a light blue? What color outfit should I wear for a Phantom of the Opera themed figure skating program?
Most people associate phantom color wise with Webber's logos and such. So a black and white dress would be good, with a hint of a light blue in accessories. Just a little bit of the blue though.

  • Is there a possible way to figure out what I got on my final exam?

Ok my average was 80% but my final average is 78% which is

decent I guess. Anyways my final exam had 90 questions and was worth 20% of my final mark, is there a way possible to figure out how I did on my exam?Is there a possible way to figure out what I got on my final exam?
    80%(80) + 20%(x) = 78

    20%(x) = 78 - 64

    20%(x) = 14

    x = 70

that's 70% of the 90 questions, so your score was 63 out of 90.Is there a possible way to figure out what I got on my final exam?
    Yes, there is.

    Here goes...

You had 80% going into the exam and this was worth 80% of your final mark.

We can say that you had 80% of the 80 marks already given or

    64/80 for your course work.

As a final mark, you got 78...so you must have got (78-64) = 14 marks from writing the exam.

So on the exam, you got 14 out of a possible 20, or 70%

That means out of the 90 questions, you got 70% of them right (63).

    So the bottom line...

You got 63 out of 90 or 70% on your final exam.

Now, don't worry about it and either go and celebrate or move on to thinking about the next exam you have!
    yes.

    80 X .8 + n X .2=78

    64 + .2n= 78

    .2n=14

    n= 14/.2

    n= 70
    Sure--

    .20 x (grade) + .8 * 80 = 78

What does sweating copper pipes have to do with physics? I can't figure out hoe to incorporate it with physics?

Our teacher gave us this project and did not explain it to us. We have to present why it is better than using PVC pipes. What does sweating copper pipes have to do with physics? I can't figure out hoe to incorporate it with physics?
I'm not too sure about physics but when you sweat a copper pipe you heat up the pipe with flux on it and then put your solder line on the top of the pipe and the solder runs around the whole pipe sealing it up you don't have to run your solder all the way around you only need to put it on the top and it does the work for you. pvc pipes use glue and they are not as durable as copper pipes. they tend to get brittle over time. hope that helps. What does sweating copper pipes have to do with physics? By sweating, do you mean soldering, or water vapour condensing on it?

First step. Be sure that file and print sharing is enabled on the host computer for the printer. Then make sure the network/domain name for all computers are the same. (Example: BobsNetwork). When you install the printer on the host machine make sure the printer is shared. You should be able to view the printer under ';Printers'; right click to share printer on the network. Finally on the computer you would like to print from you must ';add new printer'; navigate to the networked printer and add it as a device. (Normally No CD IS Required) And it's really that simple.

Check List; Network Names, Sharing Attributes, Adding device.

I hope that helps. Good luck.

everyone is going to fall on their butt. just be prepared. its not going to hurt, and if you laugh it off its not going to be a big deal.

i guess just bend your knees and push off the ice with the middle of your blade.

and if you fall hard, rub the spot where you fell. it will prevent bruising. How do you ice skate or figure skate?

start off slow, dont try anything to hard, keep your arms out in front of you, it'll help with your balnce, stay close to the wall the first couple times around until your more comfortable. its not extremely hard so dont scare yourself thinking your going to break a bone or something...if anything you'll just get a bruise if you fall.
dont worry most people dont know how to ice skate and you wont be the only one there who cant skate. keep your ankels straight and ';step-step-glide'; if you have to hold on to the wall or a friend you wont embarass yourself not everybody knows how and if they do say something just laugh alond with them

    hope this helps
Remember to take small slow steps until you get the hang of it. Don't cling to the wall, but use it for the first few minutes. When renting skates USE FIGURE SKATES. For beginners, they are DEFINATELY the best. Bend your knees and sort of march forward. Many rinks have walkers that you can lean on while skating, making it less likely you will fall. You can ask about one of these walkers, but don't use it for too long. Good luck! (Oh! I forgot! Another important thing is not to let your feet slide towards eachother, leaning over. Keep your feet parallel and facing the ceiling.)
I say relax, bend the knees as this lowers your centre of gravity and makes it easier to balance and above all have fun Don't worry about others, most of them wil probably be thinking same thing as you too Oh and dress warmly, rinks can be very chilly places.
First and foremost - BEND YOUR KNEES!!!

Secondly - use your arms for balance!

Thirdly - march, don't try to 'slide' your blades - move just like you were walking.

If you have ever been rollerblading, it isn't all that different. When you feel like you are going to fall, bend your knees a little more and you can most likely avoid a fall. Just remember, the best skaters still fall.

    Have fun!!!
keep your ankles straight, bend your knees slightly and hold your arms out and to the front for balance. also, don't worry! it's highly unlikely that the other 24+ people at the party are all figure skaters. probably there will be a lot of people falling down a lot. just laugh it off and have fun!
Keep your knees bent, head up.. don't look down, your head is heavy, you look down and you will fall.

But really.. hang onto something, if you have never skated before... It's not easy!
I have been four times and have found it really easy all you need is confidents and falling down isn't that bad it happens to everyone. Even the pros.
When you tie on your skates, tie them on really, really tight. When you get out on the ice, start off slow and hold on to the wall for balance. Good luck!
Have good posture and bend your knees. Never be afraid to fall. Try staying away from the wall and while spinning or jumping, always finish with strong edges and a straight back.
keep your ankles straight and hold on to the wall if you have to!!!! Best of luck!!!!

Just curious what type of exercises did ancient Egyptians do to keep a figure?

I did have a past life in ancient Egypt as a temple worker/one half of a royal twin set. I'm wondering if that person probably worked out and had a good figure.Just curious what type of exercises did ancient Egyptians do to keep a figure?
All kinds...I'm not exactly sure which sports were the most popular but check out the reference for more details. I know the elites did a lot of equestrian sports for sure. I think swimming, wresting and running were very popular as well.Just curious what type of exercises did ancient Egyptians do to keep a figure?
    Peace

The Egyptians or Kemetians use to do prayers; all in the first dynasty and on use to keeps these prayers up and certain times of the day and night. They prayers where so body working that you whould lose weight fast if done right. Thats why they looked to fit and well.

    Peace. Report Abuse

I don't think they really had to worry about working out. I think they were able to get enough exercise from their day-to-day routine.

I predict that even those who weren't sweating in the hot sun while building pyramids still got substantially more exercise just from daily activities than we do today.

Imagine a world with no elevators or escalators, no cars, no dishwashers, no washing machines, etc. You would have to walk everywhere (if you didn't have a camel or other mode of transportation), you would have to walk up stairs, and you would have to clean everything in your household by hand. My muscles get a bit sore just thinking about it!
I think this is more of a ';what did they not do'; rather than ';what did they do.'; The Egyptians did not have television or video games, they ate alot healthier than the people of present day, and we present day people have evolved over the thousands of years...therefor our bodies are ALOT different than they were back then.

The Egyptians didn't have machines like cars to take them places, they walked. They also didn't have machines to build anything for them. They manned up and did it by hand. I think a combination of all of the above mixed with the climate and overall lifestyle of ancient Egyptians, allowed them to have a greater physical appearance. Same goes with Native Americans, Spartans, etc.
IT IS A MILLION DEGREES in the desert! They had to do nothing but drink beer and have sex. They played a lot of games and physical activities. What you should be asking is how the slavs kept their figure building those monsterus pyramids.
    They carried damn heavy stones.
    they did alot of yoga
    They walked like an Egyptian.
lol you're silly. I think they got enough of a workout building pyramids. Also ancient egyptians were very active and lived in extreme temperatures... also alot smaller (shorter) than the average person today... they also had all natural food wich we really don't have anymore, everyone lives off what was created (even fruits and vegitables have certain things in it to make them look better that arnt good for us). look at the teeth of a mummy then look at yours... then remember that 30 was old age back then. they didn't eat anything that give people cavities (although i'm sure there were some but not many). yeah and there were probably ceramonial dances and fun active things to do (like playing instruments, dancing, fighting) for the rich. there's so much to ancient egyptians... they didn't have time to be fat.
remember Egypt is bloody hot and that any physical activity there will burn off the calories. A temple worker you say? I suspect they worked long hours, didnt eat processed sugar and very little meat. I reckon your past life chick would have been pretty fit.

Of all the people i have spoken too that claim past lives, none were boring. Most had cool jobs. I have yet to meet a 17th century cesspit cleaner or roman housewife.
    build pyramids
pulling and picking up heavy things
It was called hard work, low calorie intake and also few foods and that which they had was heavy in whole grains and vegetables/fruit. Plus, they weren't overly concerned with their weight. It didn't matter to them. Remember, in most cultures in the world a woman who is thin is a woman who is poor and from the lower classes.
    they used pyramid power.
umm okay--you had a past life---umm did you eat your cat's catnip again or were you smoking the skunk?

they did not work out---they sweated off the pounds in the sun and got strong from hauling sand blocks ans such to build the lovely pyramids
they built pyramids with a trainer
Curious. How do you know you had a past life?
you had a past life in egypt? OK, crazy lady. but the egyptians didn't work out, they just worked hard in the sun all day.

What is the best way to figure out this whole ovulation thing?

I have irregular AF every month, so I don't know if I ovulate at the same time every month or what! I heard about the ov watch, has anyone heard about this little contraption? It is a lot of work just guessing, please anybodies help is appriciated. Baby dust too all...What is the best way to figure out this whole ovulation thing?
The only way to be really sure is to buy an ovulation test kit and check which days you are ovulating (they look like hpcs and work in the same way; positive = you are ovulating). I had a very irregular ovulation cycle too (anything from day 16-20) and without the test sticks I would not have known which dates to go for. Some people say to check your temperature with a normal thermometer, but I did that too and I could not find a real rise in temperature during ovulation. It would fluctuate regardless of when I was ovulating or not... It did show a significant rise when I did get pregnant though, about half of a degree (celcius) for about a week...

Lots of luck!!What is the best way to figure out this whole ovulation thing?
I too also have irregular periods. I do a BBT chart and check my CM. So far I like the method of you checking your own cervix and watching you CM
Buy an ovulation kit....They are like 25 dollars
My suggestion would be to hook up with a Billings Ovulation Method instructor. It is a very scientific method of Natural Family Planning that can help navigate through very difficult cycles. It will help you identify what is fertile for you, etc.
I also have irregular cycles. Most people do ovulate at different times of the month though. Your luteal phase it what needs to stay the same. If your luteal phase is the same then that is good. I would see your dr and see if she can try to regulate your cycles by putting you on progesterine. That is what my dr is starting me on this month. Try charting your temp every morning with a BBT thermometer. Set your alarm to get up the same time every morning and chart it. You can go to fertilityfriend.com and chart it there. I just print out my charts and take them with me to the dr. It is the best way to see any patterns with your cycles. Good luck!!

  • General Chemistry I: How do you figure out a simple proportional/ratio equilibrium problem?

Calculate the value of the equilibrium constant for the reaction 2A + 3B %26lt;%26gt; C + D if 2.00 moles of A and 3.00 moles of B are introduced into a 2.00 liter reaction vessel and allowed to come to equilibrium, at which point 0.400 mole of A remain.General Chemistry I: How do you figure out a simple proportional/ratio equilibrium problem?
    2A + 3B %26lt;----%26gt; C + D...

you started with 2.00 moles A

you have 0.400 moles A remaining..

so 1.60 moles A have been consumed...

from the coefficients of the balanced equation

    2 moles A reacts with 3 moles B

    2 moles A ---%26gt; 1 mole C

    2 moles A ---%26gt; 1 mole D

    so moles B consumed = 1.6 A x (3 B / 2 A) = 2.4

    moles B remaining = 3.0 - 2.4 = 0.6

    moles C produced = 1.6 A x (1 C / 2 A) = 0.8

    moles D produced = 1.6 A x (1 D / 2 A) = 0.8

    at equilibrium...

    [A] = 0.4 moles / 2 L = 0.2 moles / L

    [B] = 0.6 moles / 2 L = 0.3 moles / L

    [C] = 0.8 moles / 2 L = 0.4 moles / L

    [D] = 0.8 moles / 2 L = 0.4 moles / L

    Keq for the reaction aA + bB %26lt;---%26gt; cC + dD = [C]^c x[D]^d / ([A]^a x [B^b])

    so Keq = (0.4 x 0.4) / (0.2虏 x 0.3鲁) = 148General Chemistry I: How do you figure out a simple proportional/ratio equilibrium problem?
    no problem..

    cheers Report Abuse

Set up an ICE chart to show what happens when equilibrium is established.

    Initial molarity A = 2.00 moles / 2.00 L = 1.00 M

    Initial molarity B = 3.00 moles / 2.00 L = 1.50 M

    Molarity . . . . .2A .+ .3B .==%26gt; C .+ ,D

    Initial . . . . . .1.00 . . 1.50 . . . 0 . . . 0

    Change . . . . .-2x . . .-3x . . . ..x . . . x

    Final . . . . .1.00-2x .1.50-3x . .x . . . x

When equilibrium is reached, x molar each of C and D form. Then, according to the balanced equation, A will be reduced by 2x molar and B will be reduxed by 3x molar.

    We are told that the final [A] = 0.400 moles / 2.00 L = 0.500 M = 2x

    Then x = 0.250 M

    The final concentrations are

    [A] = 0.500 M

    [B] = 1.50 - 3x = 1.50 - (3)(0.250) = 0.750 M

    [C] = x = 0.250 M

    [D] = x = 0.250 M

    Kc = ([C][D]) / ([A]^2 [B]^3) = ((0.250)(0.250) / ((0.500)^2 (0.750)^3) =

Who was the first major psychological figure to treat homosexuality as normal?

As in instead of seeing it as a moral failing or mental illness?

Or was it more of just a cultural shift?

Was there a particular theorist who proposed that it is OK to be gay?Who was the first major psychological figure to treat homosexuality as normal?
Strictly speaking homosexuality has been always been considered normal throughout the world except in cultures dominated by religions based on the Bible. The old Testament declared it an abomination, and the Christian churches declared it unnatural and a sin, and position shared by Islam. Sigmund Freud and Richard Von Kraft-Ebbing, who pioneered scientific study of sexual behavior, were the one who first declared it a disease rather than a moral failing, along with every other form of sexuality not approved by Victorian society. Freud even considered it a disease for a woman to experience orgasms during sex, the term for it was ';nymphomania'; and one recommended treatment, lasting into the 20th century was genital mutilation.

Researchers disputed Freud and Kraft-Ebbing for decades until the American Psychological and Psychiatric Associations, followed shortly by the rest of the world medical community, declared homosexuality to be a perfectly normal form of sexuality and removed it from their list of Mental Disorders in 1975. This only leaves the Abrahamic Churches as still standing against it, and they show no indication of shifting in any meaningful way.Who was the first major psychological figure to treat homosexuality as normal?
It's still controversial, we don't really know. In my opinion it's a cultural thing. For example there are more homosexuals in San Francisco. I think everyone is born heterosexual, but culture turns them homosexual.
the body can adopt and hope you too soon.

ugh. i totally dont know why but ive thought of the same question. it might be because if youre trying to figure something out that means you didnt get it immediately when you heard it. the person who told it to you already knows the answer and in the time it takes you to figure it out they get impatient and cant believe its taking you so long. so they think youre stupid or something. i dont know. thats my guess. How come when you try to figure something out people assume that you are stupid?
People who assume make and *** out of them selves. Everyone has questions and usually if you arent sure of something, there is someone else out there that has the same question. And i dont think anyone would loose their sanity over a silly question.

Who is a true famous individual figure throughout history?

I need to know some historical figures that changed the world by their choices. Someone that did not do the popular choice, or did not always do what others did. Something kind of like Robert Frost's poem, The Road Not Taken. I was thinking Mother Teresa, but I want other choices just in case.Who is a true famous individual figure throughout history?
Oprah is incredible. today i was watching an episode where she talked about animal cruelty and the propositions for California. only Oprah would bring in such controversy where millions of Americans would stop to listen for an hour. she also makes regular people (like us) millionares by talking about them and what they do on her show. example. if she likes cookies from a certain bakery she came across she would talk about it on her show and that bakery would be rich!!! wow

  • E6b home work How do I figure this out?

    Time: 4min. + 13 sec

    Distance 12.8

    fuel comsumpsion 13.4

Find: Grn. speed in K. Total fuel in Gal.E6b home work How do I figure this out?
To find your ground speed, put distance over time and look above the 60 on the inner wheel. This is your speed in whatever units your distance is in.

If you need to convert km to statute miles to nautical miles, there is markings on the outer ring (KM, SM, NM) with arrow pointing to the inner scale. Move the number you know on the inner scale to the UNIT you know and read the conversion at the UNIT you don't know on the inner scale.

Total fuel is Fuel Consumption over 60. Then read total fuel above the total time.

Hope this helps.E6b home work How do I figure this out?
One thing that may help is to refer to the ';60'; bug as the Rate Bug. Any time you are trying to figure out a rate (mph, knots, gph, etc...basically anything with a per in it) your answer will always be underneath the Rate Bug. Also, time will ALWAYS be read from the inside ring and distances from the outside. So to figure a rate in Knots (not kph...) you placve your distance (outside ring) over the time (inside ting) and read the answer under the Rate Bug.

To figure your fuel burn in gallons per hour (hint hint) place your Rate Bug over the burn (60 over 13.4) and find the time (4+13) to read the total fuel burn on the outside ring.

Another tip. Dont bother with the time stamps that read things like 2:20 and such, stick to the big numbers.
    Do not do kilometers.
The E6B is obsolete; it is easier and faster to use a scientific calculator instead. The problems you have are so simple that any four-banger will solve them easily.

The first calculator I used was an HP-45, modified to add timekeeping ability. I used it for some years, but it ate NiCad batteries faster than I liked. I now use an HP-42S, which (with the LCD display used in all calculators nowadays) draws lots less power.

That is a hard thing to predict. Just look at people in your family. If they are tall or have a certain figure, you may inherit their figure.

no one can really answer that question for you. But I can tell you that if you eat healthy, and follow an excercise program you can control a little bit of what you will weigh. as far as your figure goes you will be shaped however God decided you will be shaped. you have more control over the answer to this question than anyone else does

What's a good way to figure out how much money I need to make?

I have a 5 yr old son. His dad is supporting us both right now. I want to go back to work now that my son is in school because I don't feel my boyfriend is making enough money for the 3 of us! I'm also tired of relying on someone else for money. What's a good way to figure out how much money I need to make?
    Good for you.

To figure out the amount of the independent income, calculate what you pay for essentials and obligations for a month: rent, housing, food, power, water, and legal obligations like payments on a two-year cell phone contract. Multiple that monthly amount by 2. Then divide that amount by .70. If you want the yearly amount, multiple the number by 12.

If you need 2000 a month for your basic needs, you will need a job that makes 68571 annually. (((2000 * 2) / .70) *12). This is enough money to meet your needs, your wants and to have savings.

What are some good off ice figure skating training for beginner skaters?

i just got my first lesson and is on done on forward crossovers. What are some good off ice figure skating training for beginner skaters?
Check with your training rink to see if they offer any specialty classes, such as Weight/Resistance Training, Ballet, Stretch Class, or something of that sort. Chances are if you are with a skating club they will offer those. One thing that they used to make years ago was called a skate spinner, used to practice spin centering off the ice, which helps with both spins and jumps. I loved it. I bought mine at a competition, but if they don't make them anymore, I'm sure you could find one online. It was only about twenty dollars.

Edit: I just realized that you just started crossovers. What I have suggested I didn't start until I began jumping. The ballet may be your best bet as of now to help with balance and coordination. What are some good off ice figure skating training for beginner skaters?
Stretches, strech your legs and back. Do lots of squats and lunges. Make sure your knee does not get in front of your foot. Jumping jacks, do at least 30 or 40 reps. Crunches or sit ups. Do some push ups or try to hold a plank for like, a minute or as long as you can. Run, running is always good. Try jump roping. It helps a lot! Bend your knees a lot and strenghten your calves. Try to touch your toes or go farther. This will sound bad but pop lock and drop it 30 times to strengthen your calves and thighs. Hope I help!
if u try doing ballet or gymnastics it is good but if u have a high wall somewhere u can put ur foot up on den u could tuch ur toes and put u head on ur knee it works it will b sore 4 da first wile but u will get used to it after a while
jump up...spin 180 degreez...den do it again...den jump up and spin 360 degrees...den do it again...den jump up and sin 540...den do it again...keep tryin 2 spin higher and longer...den try 2 land wit ur feet 2getha

Ballet really helps so does music lessons once you get a routine.

  • What is the easiest way to figure out how much each person sold in a 2 person yard sale?

You have one color price tag and they have another color...

then as u remove the tags you keep them on a poster board or in a box.. and figure it up at the end of the day...

thats how we have done it in the past...worked for usWhat is the easiest way to figure out how much each person sold in a 2 person yard sale?
If you didn't use different-colored stickers (i.e., your items had red stickers, the other person's had blue stickers) it may be best simply to split the proceeds evenly. It's just a yard sale, and you don't want hard feelings between friends about who sold the most!

Using different colored stickers is good--when someone buys an item, put the sticker on a piece of paper and write the price beside the sticker.

Why was Hatshepsut such and important figure to Egyptian History?

I am doing a History project and one of the questions that I have to answer is this. I found bits and pieces of information about her and about how she was important to the Egyptians. I kinda have to do an essay on it so a lot of information would be helpful! ThanksWhy was Hatshepsut such and important figure to Egyptian History?
She was a female pharaoh of Egypt. Her husband and half-brother King Thutmose II died unexpecttedly about 1479 B.C. Her stepson, Thutmose III inherited the throne. But because he was too young to rule, Hatshepsut served as regent. A few years later, and with the support of the priests of the god, Amun, she had herself crowned pharaoh alongside her stepson. As pharaoh she encouraged trade and sent an expedition to Punt, on the southernmost end of the Red Sea. She also sponsored a vast building program. She added to the temple of Amun at Karnak and built for herself a great memorial temple, known today as Deir-el-Bahri. Besides proving that a woman could achieve great power in ancient Egypt this was probably her greatest achievement. Eventually Thutmose III regained power and may have had her deposed. I hope that this has been a help to you.Why was Hatshepsut such and important figure to Egyptian History?

Who is the most important Black figure to the world?Michael jackson or Nelson Mandela?

Different fields but overral Nelson Mandela is not even competition the man is a Legendary hero!Who is the most important Black figure to the world?Michael jackson or Nelson Mandela?
I think they are so important and yet kinda different to the AFRICAN-AMERICAN culture. I would say that Nelson Mandela is as important in politics and that kind of stuff as Michael Jackson is to the Pop Culture of the XX Century. They both made important break troughs for their people in their respective fields of expertise.Who is the most important Black figure to the world?Michael jackson or Nelson Mandela?
What about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.? He changed the face of civil rights for black people in America.

But between the two you listed, it's honestly hard to say. Michael Jackson changed the face of all music forever. But Nelson Mandela changed the entire way that South Africa was run. He wanted racial equality and democracy for all races in his country.

All in all, I think that between Michael Jackson and Nelson Mandela, Nelson Mandela had the greater impact. Civil rights and political democracy are more important to allow peace in a nation. Although, I love MJ and his music, his videos, his dancing, everything, and I give him the respect of being the greatest artist to date.
Martin Luther King Jr., Toussaint L'ouverture, W.E.B. Du Bois, Malcolm X, Harriet Tubman, Frederick Douglass, Sydney Poitier, Langston Hughes, Louis Armstrong, Maya Angelou, Toni Morrison, George Washington Carver. Know these names and love them.
Me obviously (and I am white).

Naah seriously now... WHAT ABOUT OBAMA? YOU KNOW?!? THE PRESIDENT OF UNITED STATES... what were you thinking when you wrote this? don't you think the first black president in the united states is a big deal?
Currently, I'd say our president. Michael Jackson was simply an entertainer. But, out of the 2, I'd say Mandela - BIG TIME!!!
If you're going by press coverage, Michael Jackson. If you're using intelligent thought, Nelson Mandela.
You have answered your own question, in the details it's Nelson Mandela. I happen to believe Obama is more important, but to each his own.
    Out of those two. Mandela

Although MJ was an entertainer, he donated his money and his time to charity work. His music also broke down the color walls.
If those are the only black people you can think of, then you should get an education... but of those two, Nelson Mandela, obviously...
    Please

Michael Jackson is a pathetic figure who did nothing but burn through a billion dollars in his lifetime (He made 500 Mill, died 540 mil in debt)

The most useless human being on ...or in the planet
Out of those two, Nelson Mandela surely?

Though personally I would have said MLK. Or Obama depending on how well he does over the next few years.
Can a pedophile be important?? Nelson is one of the greatest leader from the continent of Africa!
Nelson Mandela! MJ isn't even black anymore. that's how much he loved black people... he turned himself white.
    Defiantly NOT Obama Ha =]

I think rationalists would think so but they wouldn't try because they're too lazy

  • How do I become a competitive figure skater?

I'm 13, and I started around 3 months ago...I love figure skating, and I would do anything to be better at it. I am right now in a group class once a week. I was wondering what I should do first to become a competitve figure skater. I know I haven't been skating for long...but any information would help. By the way, im in ISI at the moment. How do I become a competitive figure skater?
I recommend finding a coach and taking private lessons. A coach will know how to do the paperwork to get you started competing, and will know when it's the right time. Make sure you find someone you think you can work well with, and that he or she knows that your goal is to compete. ISI is the ';recreational'; skating organization but they also hold their own competitions for every level.

The short answer is: find a coach, and practice as much as you can (and money allows!).How do I become a competitive figure skater?
ok, im 13 as well and i skate every single day of the week even saturdays. I also coach little kids on saturdays. To become competitive you need to get a solo that has all the components you need and the right requirements. all solos need footwork, field movements, jumps, and spins but the requirements are different for each level. Also your skating club will give you a solo when you are ready, and will give you badges. You club will notify you of an upcoming competition you will enter and you will probably be in level canskate. Normally, once you pass the first few levels of skating your coaches will begin to give you private lessons once or twice a week during the freeskate sessions(u can do whatever u need to work on) and you will also begin on ice dance, stroking and a spin class(specifies in spins). Drink lots of water to improve performance, eat healthy, stay fit, and keep practicing!
Go ahead and keep taking lessons, and maybe once you get a little higher you can start private lessons and get your own skates. It will take a lot of practice, and hard work, but if you are willing to do it and keep sticking with it you can begin some smaller competitions once get a little higher. Good luck!
you need to finish basic skills first then one you get into the freestyle levels you should find a private coach and work on programs.

Do you think we'll ever figure out how to live on other planets without the Sun's energy?

I heard that in a couple billion years, the Sun will enlarge and so will it's gravitational force. They say this gravitational force will suck in Mercury, Mars, and Earth, and will then implode or something....

Do you think that, in a couple billion years, we'll have figured out how to live on other planets, without the Sun if it did happen to implode?Do you think we'll ever figure out how to live on other planets without the Sun's energy?
Where did you hear it? Avoid the place! Unless you like ignorance.

The Sun will indeed enlarge, but the gravitational force will not change, as the mass of the Sun will not change.

It will grow in size to the orbit of Mars and, in the process, it will burn all the planets out to Mars.

It will eventually collapse as a dwarf star

Every state is diff. You can probaly file MFJ, but you need to find out what that state says first. You can go to a local

How much do you pay for figure skating private and group lessons?

I would think that ice skating group lessons would be cheaper but private would be better so I don't know which one to pick and most importantly I don't even know how much does it cost...help!!!How much do you pay for figure skating private and group lessons?
I fyour just starting skating i woould reccomend group lessons. I think a good time to switch to private lessons is once you have finished basic 8. (waltz jump, two foot spin, one foot spin from back crossovers, lunge, spiral, 3-turns, stops, bunny hop,)

heres some pros and cons for each:

    group lessons:

pros: cheaper, get to meet new people, get to watch how other people do things, if you decide you don't like it its easy to quit after 6 weeks or so without losing any money, you don't have super advanced skaters zipping by you all the time

cons: learn at a slower pace, not a lot of individual attention, sometimes a lot of the students are quite young (5-9 years old)

    Private Lessons:

pros: Learn much faster, individual attention, can do higher level competitions and take MIF and freeskate tests

cons: a lot more expensive (group lessons about $70 for once a week hour and a half lessons, private lessons about $30-$60 an hour plus $8-$15 for an hour of ice time.)

don't get to meet people as easily

sometimes very advanced skaters all around you which can be intimidating at first.

I would definitely say start with group lessons and if you advance fast and feel like you want more individual attention and to get better faster, start private lessons.

Happy skating!!How much do you pay for figure skating private and group lessons?
If you're just starting out, I'd suggest taking the group lessons. Save some money while learning the basics and you can always take private lessons in the future or, supplement private lessons with the group lessons. With the private lessons, you not only get the instruction, but you get to test the sport out -- sometimes skaters get into it and decide they don't like it and it's not the sport for them. You're not out as much money that way. Also in groups, you meet other skaters just like you and get to ';test drive'; coaches you may want to approach later for private lessons. Cost, time and length of the lessons depend on your area and the club hosting them. For example, our group lessons are offered in 7 week sessions on Saturdays from 1:45 to 2:30. It's $105 for the 7 weeks.

The going rate in our area for private lessons starts around $24 for a half-hour and goes up from there. Some skaters who teach private lessons on the side will only charge about $15.

    Good luck!
Group lessons cost includes ice time and instruction and is much cheaper then private. Classes will cost from $9-14 per session (40-50 minutes)

With private lessons, you have to pay for the ice fees separate from your private coach bill. Ice fees will cost you from $8-15 per 50 minute session.

Coaching will range from $30 and up per hour. Most likely it will be $40 per hour.

Usually when you have a private lesson the coach will instruct you for 25 minutes and the other 25 minutes is where you would practice on your own.

If you are new to skating, I would recommend that you take group lessons first for about a year or two then move to privates. However, if money is no object, privates would be much better and you would probably learn faster.
if you are a beginner, you can start with group lessons for the basics. but as you move up it is advisable to supplement group lessons with private lessons so you can work with a coach and spend time on moves that give you more trouble. eventually you will work with just a private coach (like at my rink there are no more group lessons after FS 5) as you advance. it depends on how far you want to advance and how much you are willing to pay.

Group lessons at my rink are $135 for 8 classes (including the ice time), and i supplement them with private lessons...my coach charges $25 for half hour and then I also pay $12 an hour for the ice time to go with the private lesson.
I pay about $140 for 8 weeks of 40-minute lessons. The teacher I have is excellent, and I recently looked into private lessons with him. He quoted me $80/hour, and that does not include ice time. (He teaches at all levels, and I would be paying for that experience, that's why it's so expensive.)

I know that there are many teachers that will teach you for less--as low as $20/hour at my rink--so the rates really depend on where you are in your skating and how much you like a particular coach. If you are just starting out, I'd look for a cheap coach. They are very good with beginners, and you can always move to a higher level coach as you improve.

As far as group vs. private lessons, that really depends on what you want to do with skating, and how much time you are willing to dedicate to it. If you only want to skate for an hour or two a week for fun, I'd stick with group lessons. You will meet other people at your level, and it is just more fun overall. My only exception: if the group lessons are crowded and you are nearing the highest level the lessons will teach to. Once you get close to the high end of the lessons, you really need space to move, and space is often at a premium for group lessons.

If you are looking to compete as soon as you can and are willing to skate daily, then get a private coach once or twice a week. You will certainly improve faster with focused instruction; I can testify to that! But I would not invest that kind of money unless I was serious about going somewhere with it. I'm not talking about making a career out of it...just recreational competition.
it depends on what you are working on. If you are freestyle 4-5 or below, group lessons are the way to go unless you are planning on competing soon. then you will need a private coach to create a program.

private lessons start about $28 for a half hour and go upwards to $50 or more.

group lessons are much cheaper, $120+ for like 8 weeks of hour lessons.
it depends what level you are in and what your goals are. If you want to be a very competitive skater and willing to pay for them, get a coach and have a private lesson. private lessons range from $20-35 for 30 min depending on what the coach charges. group lesson usually cost $120 for 8 lessons and public sessions, skates, and maybe free passes for friends (my rink has 15 extra minutes for stroking class) . really consider how serious skating is going to be for you. don't waste money on private lessons if you are a beginner. I recommend taking group lessons until FS4 and then getting a coach. if you have a coach you will get more attention.

how much you want to spend will determine your choice, but whatever works for you go for it. have fun! some pros and cons

private: more attention, work on YOUR weakness and strengths, good path if you want to compete, have more or less time on the ice

Group: might be crowded, make friends, help each other, extras included, once a week
I would assume that price depends on where you live. I just enrolled my 3 young boys in public skating lessons, I did it through the city...so it cost me 52 dollars for 8 weeks (includes free skating seeion after the lesson)..does not include the price of rental skates which cost 3 dollars each time at the rink where we go for the lessons. If price is a concern check for community services classes offered in the city where you live.
if you are just starting then you SHOULDN'T get private lessons. its prettymuch a waste of time and money. i would say that if you're just learning to do basic thing then you dont need a private coach. once you get better and you know you like it then get a private coach.

    private coaches cost about $30/30min.

more or less depending on how good they are.
well my coach charges about 200$ a month and i skate 4 times a week and get a 2 hour lessons a week and a 2 half hour lesson each week. overall my family spends about 1000$ a year in my skating.. but last year they spent around 10, 000$ because i went to camps and got new skates and dresses and stuff.
it really depends on the coach. but mine costs $40 for 20 minutes.

Look..you have to get your heart rate up, and eat perfect..power walking alone is (in my opinion) is only making your heart work a little harder....not doing a whole lot!

run, bike, swim, weights, diet - you must be disciplined. I go to the gym daily, it is a comittment!
Rando is exactly right. Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle is the only program out there that is worth anything. I was going to send you the ebook, but you don't have emails enabled, so I couldn't. I don't think you'll get Jeff's pdf either.
There are so many variables to what you're trying to accomplish it would be impossible to explain here. I'm sending you a .pdf. Read it and you will understand all you need.
i took me a little under a year to lose 50 pounds..i did it by becoming vegan.but if exercise too you could do it in 6 months
To lose weight (fat), include more fibrous slow digesting carbs, as opp. to the fast digesting ones.

No white breads, fast foods, sodas (not even diet) no ketchups, sugar, only skim milk, not 2%, skim and whole grain non sweet (sugary) cereal, whole wheat bread, maybe buy some soy or whey protein.

Include lean meats like ham, and other sources of protein. Avoid red meats. Take a multivitamin, calcium and vitamin d every 2 days, one or two V8s a day (or every other day).

Don't starve, eat small healthy meals. A lot of small meals opposed to a few bigger ones-- make sure is has at least 8-10 or more g of protein, not too much protein because the body can only digest a certain amount at a time; and avoid too many fruits, carbs and sugars. Fibrous veggies, greens (no starches or potatoes) are good, and no BBQ sauce (unless used sparingly) and not too much (if any) salad dressing.

Before bed (2 hrs), eat something with protein, don't

eat many carbs before bed. Eat some of that good cereal in the morning, you need quality carbs, just not too much, and the slow digesting ones.

Do slow crunches until you can not do anymore, jog stairs (be safe though), warm up first and do sprints, short bursts of intense activity is very effective compared to long weak activity, just don't over do it. Also include some slow but long endurance jogging. Be active!

Jog stairs ;and also do some lunges until it burns, do this every day or 2 days, keep going and don't give up, same with eating, you need some fat, so one or two fish oils daily.

Eat fish (not fried, be careful, very careful for bones) Peanut butter on whole wheat (no jelly), which has protein, and don鈥檛 worry about the fat in that. Avocados, has fat, good fat; eat it when your hunger cravings get you.

When you do crunches, also twist on some to work your sides, keep tension on your abs.

Need more info, go to http://www.bodybuilding.com
swimming, jump roping, hoola hooping, ice skating, running, racing, pogo sticks, scooters, bike riding, bad mitton, volleyball, football, any other sport. Hop scotch, watching Tv and doing sit ups, dancing, dancing, dancing? haha

    and umm:

    --- toning up ----

    It is possible. i think.

if you REALLY try at it. just dont let any extra pounds get in the way..

    just try light weights maybe..

    -- losing weight ---

in the morning if you can wake up pretty early, thats when you have the most energy! drink a bottle of water plug in your ipod or whatever and listen to music as you run! -- thats my first step.

Then you go home, eat a really healthy breakfast like fruit salad or something thats nutritonal.

After that you pretty much clean the house or whatever maybe take a walk while its cool, walk your pet dog, if you have one, i like to spend the morning doing that while its not so hot outside!

After that you wait a few hours being active as can be, then you relax a little and do some sit ups and lift weights to your own schedule... and your own statistics like weight height goals.. or whatever.. thats what i usually do! And then i like to stretch at the beginning of the day.. haha

    MORE TIPS:

chew gum - sugar free. It makes you not snack because if you chew it, you dont want to snack because then you will have to spit out your gum! works for me..

thats my trick tip - now read the losing weight 411

EXTRA: breathing for an hour burns 60 calories, so thats a little lift off your chest haha

and sleeping is the same rate :)

excersise at least 60 minutes a day if you can :)

    -------

hey, you know what? The most unexpensive weight loss thing to do, is to try to burn more calories than you eat, dont eat unhealthy like a 500 calorie diet! All that will do is make you sick, you NEED to be healthy to lose weight properly. Im trying to lose weight too! So basically here are some tips to speed up your metabolism: Drink 1-3 glasses of green tea a day

Try and eat Chilli peppers somehow, ((chilli DUH )) they help.

8 classes of water a day

the more active you are, the faster your metabolism will grow to be.

did you know that breathing for an hour burns 60 calories all on its own? And SLEEP is very important, try to go to sleep on time and get your ages average amount of sleep,. ask your doctor what a healthy weight for you is, and then after you have reached that goal do sit ups and crutches - among many other core excersises, Run to slim out, and make sure you burn more calories than you eat - had to repeat that!

Fruits and veggies are REALLY low in calories and FULL of nutrition. If you like Tacos? Ditch the hard shell, maybe try a taco salad.. without the shell of course! Lettuce with meat is good, but PLEASE try mixing it with turkey and beef so that it isnt all fat. Chicken salad is good, you want the protein but you dont want fried anything really, once in a while if fine but remember - YOU HAVE TO BURN OFF THOSE EXTRA CALORIES. Excersises excersise excersise. Dont over do it - dont starve yourself, be moderate and stay active. GOOGLE: 100 ways to burn 100 calories, their are some pretty cool things you can do!

Stay away from starchy and high carb foods - mostly white things. Bread is a bad, so try to stick to thin, HIGH in fiber, slices :)

you can google all the stuff and before you know it you will feel so good about it all and IM actually excited to start working out and all that, just because I know what it will do for me!

  • There are 11 beans, one weighs different than the others. How would you figure out in 3 turns?

yeah so there's 11 beans right. and you only get to weigh them 3 times on the scale. and how do you figure out WHICH ONE doesn't weigh the same as every other bean? There are 11 beans, one weighs different than the others. How would you figure out in 3 turns?
The tricky part of this question is that it doesn't tell you whether the odd bean is heavier or lighter. At first I didn't think this could be done in 3 turns, but I thought about it more and I'm pretty sure the following works:

Start by separating the 11 beans into four groups A B C D ... where A B and C all have 3 beans each ... and group D only has two beans. Here's how we use our three turns.

    1. Compare A and B (our first turn). If they are the same, then the odd bean is in C or D ... go to step 3 for our second turn.

    2. If A and B are different in our first turn, then pick the heavier group (let's say it's B). Compare B and C (our second turn).

2a. If B and C are the same then we know the odd bean is in group A and it is *lighter*. Then it's trivial to find the odd bean in one more turn (weigh two of them ... if one is lighter then that's your winner, if not, then the third one is the winner).

2b. If B is heavier than C (it can't be lighter), then we know the odd bean is in B and it is *heavier*. Then it's trivial to find the odd bean in one more turn (weigh two of them ... if one is heavier then that's your winner, if not, then the third one is the winner).

    3. If A and B are the same in our first turn (so neither contains the odd bean) then compare B and C (this is our second turn).

3a. If C is lighter then we know it contains a lighter bean and it's trivial to find it in one more turn (see 2a).

3b. If C is heavier then we know it contains a heavier bean and it's trivial to find it in one more turn (see 2b).

3c. If B and C are also the same weight, then we know the odd bean is in D (the group of two). Pick one from group D, and any bean from the other groups (since they are all normal beans and weigh the same). Weigh them. If the D-bean is heavier or lighter, we know it is the odd bean. If they are the same then the other D-bean (the one we didn't weigh) is the odd bean.

Bonus observation: Note that in this very last case, we have succesfully located the odd bean, but we don't know if it is heavier or lighter than the others, since we have never weighed it.

    (Phew.)

In algebra how do I figure out when to multiply add or subtract variables?

Sorry if I seem stupid but am a complete novice with it. Can someone please give me some very basic steps? In algebra how do I figure out when to multiply add or subtract variables?
    Try to understand these principles.

Addition and Subtraction are firmly related to each other.

    100 + 10 = 110

    10 = 110 - 100

    Multiplication and Division are related.

    Divide 10 into 100 = Dividend 10

    10 X 10 = 100

    10, the Divisor X 10, the Dividend = 100.

If you are clear about those relationships, it will help you decide what method must be used.

It's a bit difficult without examples.

If you are trying to arrive at a Sum, this can be adding or subtraction.

If you're trying to arrive at a Result, this can be Multiplication or Division.

There are Compound calculations which combine those.

When that comes up, multiplication and/or division is done first, then, addition and/or subtraction.

It can be reversed, but it will be indicated with parentheses.

    (2+3) X 4 = 5 X 4 Add then multiply, or divide if indicated.

    (2X3) - 4 = 6 - 4 Multiply then subtract, or add as indicated.

    Look at his.

I want to make a pound of M%26amp;Ms, with two colors. How many ounces of each do I need?

    1/ 4 with black

    3/4 with orange. (It's Halloween)

Can you see that you don't have the information to add or subtract?

You must first determine how many ounces of 1 pound, 16 oz, is needed of each fraction. So you must multiply first.

You can do these in your head, but you know the method.

    1/4 X 16 = 4 oz.

    3/4 X 16 oz = 12 oz.

Now, you can add the ounces = 16 oz, 1 pound.

You could do this with 4 colors, @ 1/4 pound each.

Another. If I make a basket.

    1/4 pound of Walnuts

    1/8 pound of Pistachio nuts

    1/2 pound of Chestnuts

    1/8 pound of Peanuts

How many pounds is in the basket.?

Can you see that you just add the fractions?

Now, how many ounces are in the basket?

Can you see that you must first calculate the number of ounces for each fraction? Then add the ounces. Then convert to pounds by division. Divide the ounces by 16 oz = pounds.

This is simple because they equal a pound, but this kind of calculation must be done, when a store mixes nuts or fruits for gift baskets.

Then they are able to calculate the price of the basket from the price per ounce for each kind and the fractions of a pound for each.

Obviously, they will charge extra for the time and the basket.

I hope this helps and isn't confusing.

How do you sew a figure skating dress?

I'm just asking out of curiosity - I want to learn how to sew a figure skating dress, since even a skirt is pricey. How do you sew a figure skating dress?
    1. Buy a dance leotard

2.sew on a skirt (dance skirts can be cheap or make your own)

    3. cover where you sewed with ribbon

    4. add crystals with a machine or glue them on!How do you sew a figure skating dress?
Buy a skirt and then use the skirt as a template. You can just have one store bought skirt and a dozen more colors that you made. That is what I did. I bought this $100 dress and sent it to Vietnam to have it sewn and custom fitted for me. I saved a lot of money. Make sure that you have the right fabric for the skirt. It has to be stretchy and it'd be best if it didnt absorb water. You can try velvet! Good luck!
I've never tried, but I've looked into it. There are patterns out there:

This place has a ton: https://specialtysportswear.com/cart/pro鈥?/a>

    And a few more:

    http://www.kwiksew.com/Catalog/cat_thumb鈥?/a>

Also, make sure you use a very stretchy material - 4-way stretch, not 2-way stretch.
you can buy a pattern for a figure skating skirt. Most fabric stores would have one. You also need to buy fabric, velvet or Lycra, usually. Ask around your rink, someone might have a pattern already and be willing to help you out.
    Check out this book:

Kwik Sew's Swim %26amp; Action Wear

It includes how to make figure skating dresses . . . think about it - if you can make a leotard - you can just add the skirt! The patterns are included in the book (for the skirts too).

    Hope that helps!

When you feel you are in a slump in life and you know there is something missing and you don't have a goal or dream set how do you go about finding one? What motivates a person to figure out their Dreams and Goals?
Being alone, spending time alone, and thinking hard about your future, and what you want in life, and when. Plan your future, and set small goals now...to start working towards your ';ultimate'; goal for the future. Before I fall asleep in bed at night, I think of the things I want in life. I think long and hard about them. Then the next day, sometimes, I'll research or learn more about them on the computer. It at least gives you perspective and ideas. But solitude/being alone, really makes my goals/dream/future plan come about and makes me driven. What motivates a person to figure out their Dreams and Goals?
the easiest way is to make a list of things is the world you wish someone would work on, or fix, or cure.

then pick the one that you care most about.

What kind of clothes would look good on a realitively small hourglass figure?

I normally just go for mens t shirts. Somewhat baggy, but not too much.

They are extremely comfortable, and you can find really cool designs on them. :]]What kind of clothes would look good on a realitively small hourglass figure?

How can you reasonably object to a statue of a great iconic figure like Nelson Mandela?

The man is rightly one of the most revered men living. How can you reasonably object to a statue of a great iconic figure like Nelson Mandela?
I don't object! I imagine the people that do are probably racists. How can you reasonably object to a statue of a great iconic figure like Nelson Mandela?
    good answer Report Abuse

Really? I fully support South African Independence and the ending of Apartheid but just what did Mandela do?

He did very little before being imprisoned and was only released to be a figurehead.

Just like Princess Diana most of what he is famous for is fantasy and wishful thinking.

Arch Bishop Tutu did far more along with many other both black and white. Mandela is a media invention and had almost nothing to do with Independence or the end of apartheid!!!
I don't object to his statue - but i do object to it being in the UK. He's a South African, and thats where his statue should be!
    i wont object
First the sq is for British politicians.Second he is a hypocrite.

    Supports genocide(Mugabee)fraud and murder.He's wife.The

suppression of peoples rights in African-Sudan etc in supporting the suppressors.Like's a back hander.Supports fraud.
I'm not racist but what has he done for the UK? Can't see the point of having it over here. The money should have gone to his country.
waste of money, give it to the kids in africa with aids

Does anyone know how to figure how much tax I need to pay as an independent contractor?

I recently booked a few modeling jobs as an independent contractor and I have never done this before. Is there any easy way to figure how much I owe on the money I made? I just wanted to be sure I put aside enough come tax time. THANKS!!Does anyone know how to figure how much tax I need to pay as an independent contractor?
www.irs.com. You are right to be doing this, because at the end of the year, you will get form 1099 -- and so will the government. You could now be subject to quarterly reporting and, even if you aren't you should do the forms, for they will give you a good idea about how much you should withhold.

Many things will depend -- what state are you in (have to withhold for state too!).

Essentially, you will owe for your income (federal and state), as well as for the employer's portion of FICA (social security), currently 7.5% (plus your portion, for a total of 15%).

I think Fr. Chuck is probably low. To be safe, I would put aside: 20% for federal, 15% for fica; 5% for state and medicare, total 40%. Of course, I am also assuming that you are in a relatively low tax bracket.

Good news, your expenses can be deducted, so keep those receipts.

You can either use the IRS website, or pony-up for an hour of time for a CPA, who can get you on track (I would go to the CPA, as he will know right where to go, and get you the forms and information). It will cost you a couple hundred dollars, but probably worth it. You only need to see him once, so this is like a ';start-up'; cost.Does anyone know how to figure how much tax I need to pay as an independent contractor?
hey, I'm an accounting student in college right now, tax is my specialty, email me with how much you made, marital status, and number of dependents, I can give you a round bout amount. Basically you will have to pay in estimted quarterly payments towards your tax using form 1040ES. Also be aware there is a self-employment tax of 15.3%, this can get more complicated depending on how much you made. Also you get half of this tax as a deduction too. Just email me and I can tell you more.
    go to: http://www.irs.gov/businesses/small/inde鈥?/a>
I did some contracting work. The tax was about 25% ....so be sure not to spend all your money, or come tax season you're screwed!!
You will owe income tax on the amount earned at your tax rate - probably 15 or 18%. Then you will owe an additional 15% on the total amount for Social Security Tax. When you are employed, the employer pays half of the SS tax. So in general, figure you need to put away 30%.
    Depending on your tax rate,

but you will have to pay all of your social security that is 15 percent before any income tax. So what is your normal income tax level 20 percent ?? 30 percent ?

Also are you going to have any liablity insurance, you hit a nail, it hits a pipe, the water starts a fire and the house burns down. That sort of thing

But you should set at least 33 percent of your income back for taxes.
    Hire a tax accountant.

You can deduct certain expenses from your income.

But you will have to pay federal and state income tax, and Social Security tax as a self-employed person.
    Hey Girl,

I know for a FACT that the IRS gets...25% of you reported earnings. At least in TEXAS they do. YEP right off the Tip Top! 25%

    YEEE HAAW
You self employment tax will be calc'd by taking the money you made and multiplied by 92.35%. If this is less than 90,000, then mulitply by 15.3%. If more than 90,000, multiply by 2.9% and add 11,160. This will be your self employment tax. You will also have to consider your income tax, which would be based upon your net income, which could be as low as another 10% or as high as 35%. You should consult a tax professional to help you with this as it can get VERY complicated.
    It's usually 30%
Go to your bank and open up a ';tax account'; based on your income there are tables to tell you how much to with hold, dont forget social security and state taxes. My bank files and sends the funds to the govt quarterly for me.
...you just go to a tax accountant and they'll tell you.
If you are going to run a business you need an accountant
You are required to estimate your next quarterly earnings, and pay in advance. If you under estimate, you will be penalized, over estimate, and get a refund. 1099 is the form I think.
Hi! Dont ! Just change your name and work casual.
