How do you figure out all the default shortcut keys that exist on your computer?

i was just wondering how I can find out all the default shortcut keys like (ctrl + s = save) that exist on a computer.How do you figure out all the default shortcut keys that exist on your computer?
You can try the help and support center of windows XP.


Type ';keyboard Shortcuts'; in the search box and under the ';Overviews, Articles and Tutorials'; heading you will find the topic ';Windows keyboard shortcuts overview'; . Default shortcuts are actually determined by individual programs for the most part. For example, many Windows programs use ctrl+w to close a window and/or exit; others use alt+f4; some use both. Most Windows programs use ctrl+s to save; Emacs uses ctrl+x, ctrl+s to save; vim uses :w





Check an individual programs help files and documentation to see if it has a list of default shortcuts.





Failing that you can search online by typing the name of the program plus the word ';shortcuts'; into a search engine. (i.e. ';Windows XP shortcuts';, ';Adobe photoshop shortcuts';, ';Open office shortcuts';, etc.)
